Bill Carr

Perry W. Carr "Bill", age 84, of Cottondale, Al, passed away on Monday, February 23, 2026, at DCH Northport Medical Center. A Celebration of life will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2026, from 2:00 p.m.– 4:00 p.m. at The Coon Hunters Club at 8000 Hargrove Rd E. Cottondale, Al 35453. He will be laid to rest at a later date in Ohio.

He is preceded in death by his father Perry Wesley Carr, mother Catherine Carr, brothers Ted Carr and Victor Carr, sisters Sarah Belle Snyder and Alice Harris.

He is survived by his wife Anna Elizabeth Carr of Cottondale Alabama; daughter Kimberly Bennett (Bob) of Texas; step-daughter Heather Hobden Wellons of Kokomo, Indiana; step-son Victor Hobden of Tennessee; sister Donna Hubbard (Jack) of Jackson, Florida; grandchildren Jacob Wellons of Texas, Gabriel and Bekah Wellons of Indiana, Racheal Wellons of Indiana, Sarah Wellons of Louisiana, Rebekah Wellons of Indiana, Caleb Wellons of Texas, Jael Wellons of Indiana, Christian Wellons of Indiana, Miya and Josh Gifford of Texas and Chad Whitlock of Texas, Victor Hobden of Tennessee; great granddaughter Jenny Wellons of Indiana.

Preacher Carr was a Missionary Superintendent to South Africa. He built churches and a Bible College for the different nationalities. Prior going to South Africa he built a church in Freemont, Ohio and also pastored at Bryan Ohio. He was a pastor at Faith Community Church on Buttermilk Rd in Cottondale, Alabama for 16 years. Preacher Carr also preached at different venues. The most recent was The Coon Hunters Club at 8000 Hargrove Rd E. Cottondale, Alabama 35453.
