Robert Lee Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Tuscaloosa Memorial Chapel Funeral Home, Memorial Park, and Crematory on Mar. 3, 2026.
Robert Steven Lee "Steve" passed away peacefully on Friday, February 27, 2026, surrounded by his loving family at DCH Regional Medical Center. He was born on March 26, 1958, in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, to Robert and Gladys Lee.

Steve dedicated many years of service to Alagasco before retiring.

Above all, Steve cherished his family. His greatest joy was his grandchildren, Anderson and Austin. Whether spending time with them or proudly sharing their pictures with anyone who would listen, he was happiest being their "Paw Paw." He loved spoiling them and celebrating every milestone in their lives.

In his free time, Steve could often be found in his woodworking shop, creating thoughtful, handmade pieces for friends and family. He enjoyed playing the guitar and fishing. A devoted Alabama football fan, Steve rarely missed a game and especially loved traveling to support the Crimson Tide alongside his lifelong best friend, Danny Nickoles.

Steve shared a special bond with his sister, Diane, whom he loved dearly. They spoke daily, and he treasured every moment spent with her. He was also an animal lover and adored his dogs, Sugar and Jackson.

Steve will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He is survived by his sons, Chris Lee (Amy) and Adam Lee; his sister, Diane Boyd (Gary); his beloved grandchildren, Anderson and Austin Lee; as well as nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Gladys Lee.

A graveside service to celebrate Steve's life will be held at Tuscaloosa Memorial Park on Saturday, March 7, 2026 at 11 AM.

In honor of his deep pride in his father's decorated military service, and in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or the Tuscaloosa Metro Animal Shelter.
