Jean B. Prince-Coleman

Jean B. Prince-Coleman, age 48, of Tuscaloosa, AL, passed away on May 31, 2024, at her home. Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 8, 2024, at Beautiful Zion AME Zion Church with Rev. Terry L. Cole officiating and burial to follow at Beautiful Zion A.M.E. Zion Church Cemetery with Tuscaloosa Memorial Chapel directing. Mrs. Jean Coleman will be lying in state one hour prior to the service.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Joyce Prince-Jackson and Albert Leonard Prince "Tip" and grandparents, Alma Jean Bolden, and Bennie & Mary C. Prince.
She is survived by her husband, Raymond Coleman; daughter, Carson Rae Coleman; sons, Ethan Coleman and Tyler Coleman; step-sons, Joshua & Jordan Coleman; sisters, LeTrice Prince-Koon, Adria "Dee" Prince-Lavendar, and Yashica Jordan; brothers, LaWayne Prince, Antonia Prince, and Demetrius Bishop; grandparent, Alonzo Bolden; aunts, Jacqueline Sapp, Teresa Rawls, Jennifer Bolden, B.J. Johnson, Rosemary Cunningham, Teresa Prince-Curry, Sandie Hood, Alice Prince, and Angela Prince; uncle, Darryl Bolden; Niece, Demi Wilson; nephews, D'Andre Wilson; Alexea, Bakari, and Cortlyn Prince; and D'Andre Wilson Jr.; mother-in-law, Ethel Coleman; sisters-in-law, Patricie Coleman, Renee Coleman; and brother-in-law, Dallas Richey.
She graduated from Hillcrest High School in 1993. Attended Alabama State University and graduated from The University of Alabama in 2014 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Environmental Science. She was known as "Momma Jean" to the Hillcrest Patriots 2020-2022 Football Team. She was also a beloved Softball Mom of Hillcrest Softball Team. For 25 years and until her time of passing, she was a beloved, dedicated, employee of The Tuscaloosa Park and Recreation (The Bobby), where she enjoyed mentoring kids and sharing camaraderie with patrons. She was an involved pillar of the Taylorville Community where she tirelessly volunteered her time and wisdom doing whatever necessary to help others.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Hillcrest High School football program or Hillcrest Softball Team in honor of Jean Prince-Coleman.
