William Gale Storms Jr.

William Gale Storms, Jr., 76, passed away Sunday, December 1, 2024. Graveside service will be Saturday, December 28 at 10:30am at Hopewell Cemetery. Rev. Ralph Sikes will officiate.

William G. Storms Jr. was born 10 February 1948 in Taylor, Williamson Co., TX on his parent's anniversary. Ltd. Col. William G. Storms, Ret. (21 Dec 1924 - 3 May 2007) and Anne Lorene Moore Storms (9 Sept 1925 - 22 Feb 2017).

He played baseball in his junior high years in Landstuhl, Germany, and football in DeRidder, graduating in 1966 from DeRidder High School. Bill attended Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, TX, in the autumn of 1966, and the following spring enlisted in the Navy. After Bill's basic training before traveling to the naval base in Virginia, he married his high-school sweetheart in Mamou, LA. During the Vietnam War, his ship did duty in the Mediterranean area. Loving sports, Bill involved his sons in baseball, coaching their teams during their childhood in Tennessee. His favorite hobbies were Golf, hunting, fishing, playing Guitar and singing classic country songs.

He is survived by his sister, Sandra Storms Kropf and spouse Philip Kropf and daughter Penelope Kropf; sons by his first marriage to Floretta Mayeux (Storms) (Broussard), William G. Storms, III and spouse Bridgette Toups Storms and daughters, Misti Fontenot, Krista Fontenot Vidrine, Erica Fontenot McPheters, and Camryn Pommier; seven grandchildren, Devin Fontenot, Maddison Fontenot, Addie Fontenot, Knox McPhatter, Hendrix McPhatter, Jewel Vidrine, and Blaze Vidrine; Jeremy Storms and grandson Logan Storms; Michael Storms and spouse Lacy Leger Storms and grandchildren, Brennen Storms and Hollynn Storms; spouse, Rebecca Bond Henderson Storms; stepchildren, Julie Henderson Reynolds Disalvo, Kirt Henderson, and Brad Henderson; and step grandchildren, Taylor Nichole Reynolds and Jaime Reynolds.
