Martha Jane Kelty, 97 years old, left this world peacefully on February 15, 2026. Born on May 17, 1928, to Hubert and Myra Payne in Lamar County, Texas. She was a beacon of kindness and creativity throughout her life. Her talents spanned a variety of artistic endeavors, and with a collection of over 400 glasses she kept everyone’s cup full.
She is preceded in death by her parents Hubert and Myra Payne, her husband Dr. C. D. Kelty, and her son John Kevin Kelty.
Jane is survived by her children; James Kelty and wife, Pat, Karen Nichols, Robert Kelty and wife, Vivian, and Daughter-in-Law Kim Kelty Sessions. Her grandchildren: Matthew Kelty, Paul Kelty, Aimee Kelty, Joseph Kelty and wife, Melissa, Robert Kelty, Sara Williams and husband, Billy, Megan Kelty, Christopher Kelty and wife, Jessica, and Emily Kelty. Her great-grandchildren: Keaton Kelty, Cameron Broussard, Ben Broussard, Sean Kelty, Chloe Williams, Brady Kelty, Attis Kelty and Finn Kelty.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, in the chapel of Myers Colonial Funeral Home at 1:00pm. Pastor George Lee Glass will officiate the service. Visitation will be held at Myers Colonial Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, from 12:00pm until 1:00pm. Burial will follow the service at Beauregard Cemetery.
Jane will be deeply missed, her spirit will live on in the hearts of those she loved.
