It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of William Calhoun Geden. Known as Bill to his friends and family, called "Jack" affectionately by his wife of over 50 years and named "Apple" by his eight grandchildren, he lived a full and adventurous life. A loving son, dedicated husband, father and grandfather a family member recently described him as "a father to everyone."
Born in Detroit, Michigan to Harriet and George Geden, Bill was raised in Detroit and Southfield with his sisters, Cathy and Sally. He graduated from Howe Military school and returned home where he soon met Gloria, his wife while stopping in at Cunnigham's Drug Store on Woodward Avenue.
Although his work schedule kept him busy, Bill always made time for his family. Whether it was teaching his children how to shoot a basketball, throw a softball, tie a shoe, play guitar, ride a motorcycle or how to pitch a tent at the bottom of the Grand Canyon, he was a dedicated family man.
He is survived by his wife, Gloria of 51 years, his daughters and son and their spouses; Julie and Christine, Nicholas and Carrie and Christopher; grandchildren Kennedy, Everett, Eli, Calhoun, Felicity, Dylan, Jasper and Margot; his sister and brother-in-law Sal and Russell Courville.
A Time of Sharing will be held at Lynch and Sons, 404 E. Liberty St., Milford, MI 48381 on Saturday, January 4, 2025, beginning at 2:00PM. Friends and family may gather from 1:00PM until the start of the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations are made to the Children's Hospital of Colorado. Please see the link located below for online donations.
