William "Bill" Gilbo, 75, of Morehead City, passed away on Tuesday, October 18, 2022, at Crystal Coast Hospice House.
Bill was born on March 10, 1947, in Cleveland, Ohio, to the late William and Majella Gilbo. Following high school, Bill honorably served in the United States Navy. With 26 years of brave commitment, Bill was a Vietnam Veteran, serving with the Navy Aircrew. Upon his retirement as Master Chief, Bill's numerous medals included the Bronze Star for his heroic service.
Bill's dedication was evident in all aspects of his life. Always willing to help others and family when needed, Bill was reliable and ready to lend a helping hand. With a large and loving family, Bill had plenty of destinations to travel to, he enjoyed road trips and spending time with his loved ones. And of course, football season was certainly his favorite time of year, nothing was better than watching a competitive game.
Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Christina Birgen and husband Michael; son, Keith Gilbo and wife Annmarie; sister, Rita Verghese and husband Sam; brothers, Paul Gilbo and wife Cassandra, Robert Gilbo, David Gilbo, and Patrick Gilbo; grandchildren, Ryan Morgan, Jacob Morgan, Jenna Gilbo, Dylan Gilbo, and Jakob Gilbo; and significant other, Janice Southworth.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Gilbo; sister, Sandy Gilbo; and brother, Michael Gilbo.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Crystal Coast Hospice House, P.O. Box 640, Newport, NC 28570.
