William J. Grant, 68, of Macungie, died Dec. 5, 2024 in Lehigh Valley Hospital. He was the husband of Teri L. (Eichelberger) Grant. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late George J. and Sara E. "Sally" (Harned) Grant.
William's life was marked by a remarkable journey of dedication, love, and service to both his family and community. Beginning his career in woodworking and masonry in 1975, William honed his skills and later transitioned to owning and operating his own kitchen and bathroom remodeling business for an impressive 38 years. His work ethic was unmatched, and his passion for craftsmanship was evident in every project he undertook.
Beyond his professional life, William had a deep appreciation for nature and wildlife, often spending his time on the family farm. There, he planted trees and created lasting memories with his grandchildren, passing down lessons of love for the earth and family traditions.
What stood out most about William, however, was his unwavering love for his family. He was the rock, the anchor, and the lifeline that held everyone together. His strength was not just physical but emotional, providing stability and guidance to those he loved. His generosity knew no bounds, and his ability to always find a solution to any problem made him a constant source of support and inspiration.
William's selflessness, dedication, and resourcefulness were unmatched, earning him the admiration of his family, neighbors, and the broader community. His cleverness in solving problems and his constant willingness to help others ensured that his legacy would be one of love, service, and unwavering devotion.
William will be remembered by his wife of 45 years, Teri; daughters, Katie Grant, Elizabeth Grant, and Jill Sanchez; grandchildren, Lilly Hamas, Gabriella Hamas, Abrianna Scolari, Keira Scolari, and Christian Sanchez; brother, Alexander Grant. He was predeceased by brothers, James H, Jr., George W., Robert B., and Ralf C. Grant.
A celebration of William's life will be announced at a later time. Schantz Funeral Home, P.C., Emmaus is handling arrangements.

I was so saddened to see about the passing of Willie, a wonderful man I have memories of from early childhood. He helped build my parent's house, and even over 30 years later, he still came around for big and small jobs. As I grew and became a homeowner myself, I found a lot of comfort in being able to call up an old family friend who I could trust to do good work and provide excellent company at the same time. When my mom passed away 2 years ago it was followed not a month later by the untimely death of our family dog - my father, still grieving, was beside himself and unable to bury our dog with the ground frozen. Not only did Willie help dig the hole, but he buried our dog on his property making sure my dad knew he could visit any time. It was such a small act of kindness at a truly difficult time but I've thought of it many times over the last 2 years. He was truly a wonderful human being and the world is at a great loss with him gone. I want to send my deepest sympathies to his beautiful family for such a significant loss - I hope you are able to find solace in the legacy he left behind. I feel truly honored to have him as just a small part of my world, and I am so genuinely sorry for your loss.

All I have to do is look around my house. Willie´s handwork is everywhere - From my kitchen, my bathroom, my bedroom, my laundry/craft room, my sewing room upstairs to 3 handrails he put up for us because we are aging and having some difficulty going up and down stairs...
I will miss his smile, his hugs, and his attention to detail. He was very humble and never gave himself enough credit. There will never be another like him. We miss you, Willie.
