William "Wally" and I had many special friends including Bobbi (Bob) who opened their home to take care of Wally alongside hospice care. In addition to our loving family, he was blessed with a close group of friends Fred Gabe (Deanne), Greg Lavalley (Kathy), Pat Pease (Jim), Cheryl Papke and Ken Drinkard, Peggy Flynn, Nancy, Mike and Ryan Falcheck, Mary Cascarelli, Rita (Mike) Adler, Bob (Linda Milne) who provided comfort, inspiration and joy throughout his life. Beyond family and friends we've forged bonds that are just as important to us as family with my wonderful supportive coworkers Saundra (Gary) Gay, Sundalea Gay, Taris Smith, Tyuanna Williams, Monique Jacob-Watts, Ijuane Jospeh-Jones, Alicia Reaves, Destiny Reaves, Saundra Parson, and Carolyn Cannon. The family wishes to extend our heartfelt thanks to Beaumont-Corewell Health hospice care for excellent care and compassion for Wally. We are deeply grateful for the kindness and dedication you all have shown; Shelly, Alex, Tami, Tanya, and Lizzie.
William was a man of many interests and talents. Wally received a Regents Scholarship to the University Of Michigan, of which he obtained a Law Degree and Business Degree. 'He went on to practice in different law areas. He also was an administrative law judge. In addition too, Wally founded the ''OCD'' (obsessive compulsive foundation) that is still currently operating in Michigan. Wally's enthusiasm didn't stop there in fact, he also founded the MADE-IN-MICHIGAN film festival that is currently held in Bay City, MI. Furthermore, he was a citizens probation counselor for 30 years. Wally was also a Father figure mentor, he was a foster parent for 2 years which he provided comfort and support during a transitional time.
Above all, William was a devoted loving father who he was most proud of. Though he achieved much in his lifetime, his son Clark Sr. was his greatest accomplishment and reflection of his love. Wally was an avid reader who found joy in the written word so much that he had become an accomplished and published author and has written 6 books. 3 of which were self-help books for OCD and 3 were murder mysteries. He wrote a column for the county press of Lapeer for 7 years. He was a member of the Lapeer Historical Society.
Our beloved home (Redwing) sits on an archeological site of which prehistoric people lived thousands of years ago. He also owns a special collection of artifacts from redwing property. Wally had a love for music as well and played the guitar with our many memories of sing along outside by the campfire pit. He was an avid sailor of his beloved 26' sailboat. Wally was also an advocate of the underground railroad. His family helped and protected the slave to cross over into Canada by way of Port Huron. His grandmother also lived on to write a book about it called the Beacon Tree.
Wally was a special loving generous and kind man! He shared our Redwing lake property with all of our neighbors, family and friends. We had many wonderful get-togethers over the years. We would have amateur and professional entertainers at our events that friends and family continue to reminisce about them still today. Wally and I had a beautiful southern belle wedding of my dreams that we carefully and thoughtfully planned. Wally also wrote a beautiful descriptive column about it. I cant say enough good things about my husband Wally. He was the best and what I'll remember as my greatest accomplishment of love and friendship. Wally would extend his hand to everyone and try to help people in need. He would always say to me "I have lived a rich full interesting life and what could be better then that?!" Wally has always been so self-efficient. He could sew, cook, clean, and fix most house hold items. Wally had a love for fishing and hunting. He loved Mckeen Lake where he grew up. His family also had a farmhouse across the lake and cottage where the family could get-together. Wally and I have been married for 35 years and together 45 years. I am forever proud to have been Wally's wife! I will always keep Wally alive in my heart!
