William Joseph Greer Sr., affectionately known as Billy, passed away peacefully on August 11, 2025, at the age of 85 in Clarkston, Michigan. Born on April 4, 1940, in Detroit, Michigan, Billy lived a full and vibrant life rooted in family, hard work, and a deep appreciation for the simple joys of everyday living. Billy resided in Holly with his wife Rachel Greer and is a proud father of five children: LeEnrique Contreras-Robinson, Gloria Greer, Billie Jo Greer, William Joseph Greer Jr., Jeffrey Greer. He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren- Nova, Enrique Jr., Laila and Harmoni. Together Billy and Rachel raised their kids to love the Lord, they attended Holly Apostolic Church. This is where Billy was baptized in Jesus' name and filled with the Holy Spirit under Bishop Charles Beeler and Pastor Ruby Beeler. Throughout his life, Billy was known for his generous spirit and unmistakable sense of humor. He had a unique gift for giving everyone he met a nickname-a small but meaningful gesture that made people feel seen. Just as memorable were the plates of food he shared with friends and family alike. Billy believed that food was love made tangible. His hands were rarely still. Billy found joy in working on cars, often spending hours under the hood with a wrench in hand and his boys by his side. He loved fishing-whether casting a line from the shore or out on the water-and could often be found thrifting for hidden treasures or tending to his garden with pride. A man of many talents and endless wit, Billy's legacy is one of warmth, humor, generosity, and resilience. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his mother, Gloria Simon-Greer; his father, Arnold Greer Sr.; his brother, Arnold Greer Jr.; and his sister, Charlenne Greer. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 30, 2025, at 1 PM at Dryers Funeral Home 101 S. First St Holly, MI 48442 United States. A visitation will be held from 11 AM until the time of service at 1 PM.
