William Elizabeth "Liz" (Reed) Gwillim, age 103, passed away March 27, 2026, peacefully surrounded by her family at Carlinville Area Hospital.

Liz was born on December 22, 1922, in Greenfield, Il, to William and Alma (Hess) Reed. She went to school in Greenfield, IL, and after graduation she came to Carlinville to work at the Spot Cafe. She met her husband, Nelson Gwillim while working there. They were married August 23, 1941, in St. Charles, MO. They farmed for a few years before going into the trucking business hauling milk for Prairie Farms for over 50 years, grain and fertilizer, meat, produce, and almost anything that would fit in a trailer- they would haul. After her husband's passing, Liz and her 2 sons continued the business until selling.

Liz loved to travel, loved God and belonged to the Emmauel Baptist Church. She enjoyed reading and she kept busy until the age of 97. She loved her family and friends.

Liz was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 3 sisters, 3 brothers, and granddaughter (Shelly Ann Gwillim Allen), and nieces and nephews.

Surviving are sons Jimmy Gwillim, Richard (Susan) Gwillim of Carlinville, IL, daughter Kay Gwillim Jolliff, of Atlanta, GA, 9 grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, and twelve great-great grandchildren.

Per her wishes, private family services will be held.

Memorials may be made to Emmanuel Baptist Church.
