William E. Harris

William E. Harris passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his children, on January 7, 2026, at the age of 89. William, better known as Earl, was an amazing brother, father, friend, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

Earl was born December 16, 1936, in Memphis, Tennessee, to the late Ernest and Clementine Williams, who preceded him in death.

He had many things he loved. He loved fishing, riding his motorcycle, and listening to music while sitting on his porch. He also loved teaching his grandbabies and spending time with his children.

He worked for Sibley Foundry for over 40 years and cleaned offices for over 10 years.
William is survived by his seven children, Gerald (Joy), Edward (Vita), Rodney (Anita), and Vicki, Robin, Cynthia, and Julie. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great-grandchildren.

His siblings left to cherish him are Robert, Jimmy, Linda, Irma, and Jeannie, and his fur buddy, Buddy.
He was greeted at the gate of heaven by his parents and four brothers and one sister.

The family of William Earl Harris would like to thank all who called, texted, and showed up for us during this time of pain. We would also like to thank Palmer Funeral Homes on Lincolnway West in South Bend, Indiana; Paradigm Hospice nurses; all of the CNAs; and especially Charlotte and Ronisha for taking such wonderful care of our daddy.

To the family members who stepped in, stayed all night, and went above and beyond-we thank you personally. We truly appreciate each and every one of you, and you are all in our prayers.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11am on Saturday, January 17, 2026, in Palmer Funeral Home – West Chapel 2702 Lincolnway West South Bend, IN 46628 where family and friends may begin to gather at 10am.

Heaven gained an angel. He gained our daddy.
