William Hastings Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Windsor Locks Funeral Home on Jan. 8, 2026.
William "Bill" Hastings, 69, of East Windsor, Connecticut, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 6, 2026. Known to family and friends simply as Bill, he will be remembered for his presence, his life, and the impact he had on those who knew him. Bill was born on September 30, 1956, in Noblesville, Indiana, to Eugene Blair and Patricia Hastings.

He grew up in Cochranton, Pennsylvania, and attended Cochranton High School. Bill shared over 40 years with the love of his life, Jacqueline "Jacquie" Olisky, and they were married in 2013. Together, along with Jacquie's brother, they proudly co-owned and operated B & J Auto Transport, LLC., a business he took great pride in operating not only efficiently, but with a strong personal touch. He believed that every customer, regardless of the size of their business, deserved to be treated with respect and care. Bill went out of his way to make each client feel valued and important, and he considered those relationships an essential part of the B & J Auto Transport family.

Bill was known for his generosity and kindness, always willing to go out of his way to help anyone he could. He was consistently available to lend a hand, offer his time, or provide whatever support was needed, no matter the circumstance. He was a member of the OOIDA (Owner-Operator Independent Drivers Association).

He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, as well as his niece and nephew, and his beloved dog, and most looked forward to any opportunity he could spend with them. He found joy in working on older cars, tinkering with vintage lawn equipment, and taking rides on his motorcycle, pastimes that reflected his hands-on nature and love for mechanics.

Bill is survived by his wife, Jacqueline Olisky of East Windsor, CT; his children, William Hastings, Jr. of Brunswick, GA, Daniel Hastings of Jessup, GA, Lori McLamb of Jessup, GA, and David Hastings, and his wife Amber of British Columbia, Canada; his grandchildren, William Hastings III, Collin Hastings of Statesboro, GA, and Natalie "Nit Nat" Hastings of Richmond Hill, GA; his mother, Patricia Hastings of Cochranton, PA; his siblings, Steve Hastings of Cochranton, PA, as well as Marty, Mark, Sheena, Katy, Chris, and David; his

nephew, Charlie Haller of Windsor Locks, CT, and niece, Stephanie Olisky of Broad Brook, CT; and his in-laws, Margaret Olisky of Windsor Locks, CT, A.J. Olisky and his wife Jennifer of Broad Brook, CT, and John Olisky and his wife Lynne of Enfield, CT.

He was predeceased by his father, Eugene Blair; his stepdaughter, Marie Olisky; and his brother, Eugene Blair, Jr.

Bill is also survived by many extended family members, all of whom will deeply miss him. There are many close friends that Bill considered family that will also be deeply impacted by his passing.

Family and friends are invited to attend visitation on Thursday, January 15, 2026, from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. at

One of the best people to have known. Always had a smile on his face, would go out of his way for a stranger. Rest easy Bill.
Sincerest condolences from my family to yours.

Billy will be sorely missed by all who knew him. I enjoyed our conversations about the trucking industry.
