Daniel P Foley

Daniel P. Foley, 70, of East Windsor, formerly of Windsor Locks, beloved husband of 24 years to Carla (Lombardo) Foley, entered into eternal rest at his home on Tuesday, March 3, 2026.

Born in Hartford on October 8, 1955, he was the son of the late Robert J. Foley and Dorothy (Henderling) Foley.

Daniel began his career as a machinist before pursuing work with the Mental Health Department for the State of Connecticut. During that time, he furthered his education and earned his master's degree from Central Connecticut State University. Following his studies, Daniel opened his own practice as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), serving individuals and families in Windsor and later Windsor Locks. He remained dedicated to helping others until his retirement at the age of 62.

Outside of his professional life, Daniel found great enjoyment in the outdoors and in sports. He was an avid golfer and also enjoyed fishing whenever he had the opportunity. He was a loyal fan who loved cheering for his favorite teams, the New York Yankees, Minnesota Vikings, and UConn men's and women's basketball teams. Daniel was also proud to be a friend of Bill W. for 38 years, a journey that reflected his strength, perseverance, and dedication to helping both himself and others.

In addition to his loving wife, Carla, Daniel is survived by his children, Kelly Maurice and her husband Robert of Somers, Edward W. Smalley, Jr. and his wife Kerri of Windsor Locks, and Matthew F. St. Thomas and his wife Darcy of Avon. He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren, Michael, Austin, Kevin, Lexy, Riley, Hope, Brady, Wyatt, Chloe and Deanna as well as many dear nieces and nephews. Daniel is also survived by two brothers, Thomas Foley and his wife Terry, and Gary Foley and his wife Renee.

In addition to his parents, Daniel was predeceased by his son, Daniel P. Foley, Jr., as well as five brothers and two sisters.

Daniel's family will receive relatives and friends for calling hours from 4 to 7 pm on Thursday, March 12, 2026 at the Windsor Locks Funeral Home, 441 Spring St., Windsor Locks. A service will immediately follow at 7 pm. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Daniel's memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
