William L Henderson, 81, fondly known as "Bill" of Shreveport, Louisiana passed away on January 18, 2026 peacefully at his home.
William was born in Shreveport, Louisiana on September 3, 1944. In 1962, he graduated from the very first graduating class of Bethune High School in Shreveport. A love for spiritual conversations and a relationship with his heavenly father started early in life. He symbolized his dedication to Jehovah by water baptism May 7th 1955, at the tender age of 10 years old at a circuit assembly in Alexandria, Louisiana.
William married his bride Betty Smith June 29, 1968. They were married 57 years. To this union one child was born, Valerie.
William worked as a maintenance painter for Missouri Southern State University for 30 years. Throughout the years William enjoyed bowling, tennis and golf with his friends and family. William served in the Joplin Missouri West Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses.
For the last 15 years, has served with the Sunset Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses. William was well known for his preaching and teaching work in his local community.
William is survived by his wife Betty Henderson, his daughter Valerie Hines (Michael), one brother Rance J Henderson (Irie) of Dallas Texas, one sister Letha Mahoney of Benton Louisiana.
Also to cherish his memories: his 6 brothers- in-law & 4 sisters-in-law of over 50 years, over 50 nieces and nephews.
He will also be missed by countless friends who each have their own fond memories of their time with him.
