William Hensley Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Mercer-Adams Funeral Service on Sep. 16, 2022.
William "Ross" Hensley was born in Fredrick, OK on November 21, 1938 and passed away in Oklahoma City on September 12, 2022.
He graduated from Fredrick Senior High School in 1956 and graduated from Oklahoma City University in 1961 where he was a Member of Sigma Phi Epsilon. He met and married Virginia "Ginny" Hensley while attending OCU. After graduating, he and his wife moved to California for work. He then returned to Oklahoma City where he worked for Dolese Bros. Soon after leaving Dolese, he started a 20-year career with Dulaney's Inc. as finance manager until they split into a subsidiary called Best Video where he served as Vice President.
When Best Video sold in the early 90's, Ross moved to the restaurant business where he opened a pizza and sandwich shop in Blanchard, OK. After 3 years in the pizza business, he sold it and began a 14-year career in child support enforcement for the State of Oklahoma, where he worked until the day he died.
In the 70's and 80's, Ross was the treasurer for the Tri City Athletic Association and also coached football, baseball, and basketball. Not only did he mentor the youth of OKC to be great competitors and exhibit good sportsmanship, but also to become even better young men.
Ross was a very devoted husband and the best father two sons could ask for. He was also an avid hunter and fisherman, as well as state trap shooting champion.
Ross was preceded in death by his parents, E. Morgan Hensley, Sr. and Carlene Ross Hensley; brother, E. Morgan Hensley, Jr.; wife, Virginia "Ginny" Hensley; and daughter, Karrie Jane Hensley. He is survived by his sons, Kyle Ross Hensley and James Everette Hensley.
No services are planned at this time.
