William Hill Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Money and King Funeral Home and Cremation Services on Mar. 18, 2026.
William Robert Hill, Jr., 61, of Fairfax, Virginia, passed away suddenly from cardiac arrest on March 10, 2026.
Bill was born in 1964 in Waynesburg, Pennsylvania to William and Anna Hill. After graduating from Jefferson Morgan High School in 1982, and after serving as a Volunteer Fire Fighter with the Jefferson Volunteer Fire Company in Greene County, Pennsylvania, Bill moved to Virginia in hopes of becoming a Fireman with Fairfax County but was unable to obtain one of the few coveted spots applied for by dozens of others.
In 1984, at his brother-in-law's suggestion, Bill walked into Ferguson Enterprises, in Herndon, Virginia where the Dulles Corridor was starting to boom, and filled out an application for employment. After wearing many hats over the next 40 years in sales and management, Bill retired from Ferguson in May 2024 and anxiously awaited the retirement of his Chris.
Bill met his wife, Chris, in 1986, bought their Fairfax home in 1991 and subsequently wed in 1992, going on to have their beloved daughter, Meredith, in 1996.
Bill grew up in Greene County, Pennsylvania, where he kept close family ties, stayed connected with childhood friends through Facebook, and remained interested in his hometown's news.
Since retirement, Bill enjoyed his daily walks with their dog DJ, tinkering in his workshops, playing in his shuffleboard league and visits with Meredith and his new son-in-law, Ronnie. He, Chris and the family were looking forward to frequent travel, including more time at their cherished home in the Outer Banks of NC, preferably with the Jeep's top down. Amongst many other things, Bill was a dedicated Pittsburgh Steelers fan, an expert at the grill, and a devoted dad to Meredith as well as their many pets over the years.
Bill was predeceased by his parents William Robert Hill, Sr. and Anna Louise (Lorence) Hill, as well as four brothers-in-law. Bill is survived by his wife, Christine (Hamm) Hill, daughter Meredith (Hill) Browning and son-in-law, Ronald (Ronnie) Eugene Browning, Jr. of Galena, Maryland, sisters Cindy Stanton, Sue Shultz and Chris Lenhoff, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Services are scheduled to be held at Money & King Funeral Home, 171 Maple Avenue, West, Vienna, Virginia on April 18, 2026 at 3:00 p.m., visitation to begin at 2:00 p.m. Following the services, a gathering in celebration of Bill is graciously being hosted by Bill's second family, the Centreville Moose Lodge, at 3529 Chain Bridge Road, Fairfax, Virginia 22030.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his honor to Moose Charities (https://www.moosecharities.org/donate/) or Friends of the Homeless Animals (FOHA), from which three of their beloved pets were adopted or foster failed (https://foha.app.neoncrm.com/forms/springappealwebsite).
