Mr. William Clarkson "Bill Hoops" Hoops

Bill (William Clarkson) Hoops, of West Covina, California, born on Oct. 7, 1956 in Glendale, California, to the late Kae Soon Lee Hoops and the late William Edgar Hoops, passed away at age 61 on September 29, 2018 at Alexian Brothers Hospital in Elk Grove Village, Illinois. He had suffered from Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis for 9 months.He graduated from Edgewood High School (1974), Mt.San Antonio Junior College (1977), California Polytechnic University, Pomona (1979), and Moody Bible Institute (1983). Places he had worked for included Thompson's market, Teledyne Cast Products,First Commercial Bank, Lakeview Bank, Skokie Federal, Comerica, Cole Taylor Bank, Symons Corp.,CIB Bank, Walgreens, DeLasalle Institute and First Student. Bill was married to his beloved wife of 35 years, Lily Eng Hoops. He was preceded in death by his brother, James Hoops; grandmother, Alice Hoops; grandfather, Clarkson Hoops and Uncle Boyd Hoops. William is survived by his sons, Nathan E. Hoops and David E. Hoops; daughters, Alisa E. Hoops and Emmeline E. Hoops; granddaughter, Mila Marasigan; sister, Alice Lee Stel; nieces, Jennifer Wright, Allana Linderoth, Marissa Martin and Briana Hoops ; and nephews, Travis Hoops and Tyler Linderoth. William loved collecting rocks, old coins and stamps, sketching, model replica building and walks in parks and gardens;. He had served at the First Baptist Church of Covina, Chicago Chinese Baptist Church, Northwest Baptist Church, Des Plaines Bible Church, Willow Creek Community Church, Chinese Baptist Church of the Northwest Suburbs, First Baptist Church of Arlington Heights,International Church of Love, and New Life Community Church, Bridgeport. He was involved with Gideons International and Boy Scouts of America.
Bill had lived his life according to the Scriptural teachings in the Bible. He loved unconditionally, he forgave readily and his faith in Christ is undeniable. He was indeed a good and faithful servant! He will be dearly missed by many! A Memorial service, officiated by Rev. Benjamin Tam, was held on October 2 ,2018 at the Chinese Baptist Church of the Northwest Suburbs, 4242 Kirchoff Road, Rolling Meadows, Illinois, 60008.
