William Hoppe Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Brugger Funeral Homes & Crematory, LLP - West 38th St. on Mar. 9, 2026.
William R. "Bill" Hoppe, age 83, of Millcreek, passed away on Thursday, March 5, 2026, at St. Vincent Hospital. Born on February 14, 1943, he was the son of the late Frank and Veronica (Farrell) Hoppe.

Bill graduated from Harborcreek High School. He spent 33 years working for Sears, Roebuck and Company before retiring. During his time there, he worked as an auto mechanic and specialized in small engine repair, a skill he carried with him throughout his life.

Bill enjoyed working on classic cars. Over the years he owned several older Ford trucks and a vintage Mustang. He enjoyed spending time restoring, maintaining, and talking about them with family and friends.

He also loved dogs and always enjoyed having them as part of the family. His favorite breed was the Collie, and he had many over the years that brought him much companionship.

Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Marian E. (Lopriore) Hoppe, and his brother, Thomas Hoppe.

He is survived by his son, Michael Hoppe and his wife, Nilda, of Millcreek; his brother, Jim Hoppe of Harborcreek; four grandchildren, Nathanael, Gabriel, Caleb, and Asher; and nieces, Nadine and Brenda.

Bill will be remembered for his love of family, his dedication to his work, and his passion for classic cars. He will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him.

Friends are invited to call on Saturday, March 14, 2026, from 10 a.m. until a funeral mass at 11 a.m. at St. George Church. Interment at Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery.
