William C. "Bill" Houston, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and dedicated Lakeview Wesleyan Church member, passed away on September 17, 2025, in Marion, Indiana, at the age of 85. Born on October 3, 1939, in Wabash, Indiana, Bill lived a life characterized by service, family, and a passion for the outdoors.
Bill had a distinguished career as a Meter Electrician for I & M Electric, where he rose to the position of Supervisor for the Marion and Muncie area. His commitment to his work and his community was evident throughout his career, earning him the respect and admiration of colleagues and friends alike.
In addition to his professional achievements, Bill proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy for four years. His time in the military instilled in him values of discipline and dedication that he carried throughout his life.
Known for his culinary skills, Bill had a particular fondness for making homemade pumpkin pies, taking delight in creating his own crust. He was an avid fisherman and cherished the memories of camping at Salamonie with his children during their formative years. Bill also enjoyed recreational shooting, activities that highlighted his love for nature and the outdoors.
Bill is survived by his devoted wife, Sheila Houston; his children, Brent Houston, Stacy Geaugh, and Heather Houston-Rahim; his granddaughter, Bella Geaugh; as well as one niece and three nephews. He will be profoundly missed by his loving family and friends who carry on his legacy of kindness and dedication.
Bill was preceded in death by his father, William Houston; his mother, Lois Houston; his sister, Margaret Lubbers; and one nephew. Each of these individuals played a significant role in his life, and their memories will forever remain in the hearts of those he loved.
A graveside service to honor Bill's life will be held on September 26, 2025, at Grant Memorial Park Cemetery in Marion, Indiana, starting at 11:00 AM. It is a time for family and friends to gather and reflect on the lasting impact Bill has had on all who knew him. His spirit will continue to shine brightly in the lives of those he touched.
