William "Bill" Hughes, age 69, passed away peacefully on January 17, 2026, in
Greensboro, North Carolina.
Bill was born in
San Gabriel, California, and raised in Temple City, where he graduated from Temple City High School. After high school, he proudly served in the United States Marine Corps, achieving the rank of Sergeant. Following his military service, Bill earned a Bachelor of Arts in Business Management from Pepperdine University.
Bill spent his entire professional career in industrial equipment sales, where he was known for his strong work ethic, integrity, and ability to build lasting relationships. He took pride in his work and the reputation he earned over decades of dedication.
Above all else, Bill was a devoted family man. He loved traveling with his family and treasured time spent together. He was an avid golfer and a lifelong, die-hard Los Angeles Dodgers fan.
While he enjoyed all sports, he was especially passionate about baseball, football, and golf.
Survived By: His loving wife, Julie; his children, Jason and his wife Jamie, Matthew and his wife Christi, and Kylie and her husband Michael Truesdale; and his cherished grandchildren, Jacob, Alyssa, Connor, Gavin, Brynn, and Grey.
Arrangements are entrusted to Triad Cremation & Funeral Service. His remains will be laid to rest at Forest Lawn Cemetery in the Veterans Circle, honoring his service to his country.
Bill will be remembered for his strength, loyalty, love of sports, and unwavering devotion to his family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
A Celebration of Life to honor Bill will be held at the Lake Jeanette Swim & Tennis Club, 5040 Bass Chapel Rd., Greensboro, on Saturday, February 28, 2026. Family & Friends invited to drop by anytime between 2 pm and 4 pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Bill's name to Senior Resources of Guilford (Meals on Wheels), an organization that was very near and dear to Bill.
