William Ineson Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Bellows Funerals & Cremations on Feb. 28, 2026.
William "Bill" Ineson, 90, of Pawtucket, died peacefully at South County Hospital on February 23, 2026, following a brief illness. Born in Central Falls, Bill was the son of the late Bernard and Ada (Jackson) Ineson. He lived in Pawtucket his entire life, graduating from Pawtucket Vocational High School in 1953 and then serving in the United States Coast Guard for four years. After his discharge, he pursued further education at New England Institute of Technology in the field of electronics. He worked as an electronics technician for Honeywell in Boston, MA, retiring in the early 1980's.

Bill was a kind, quiet man with a quick wit and a fiercely independent nature. He loved sports, playing on various teams and leagues in his younger years and more recently, catching any televised football or college basketball game. He had varied interests and excelled at anything he put his mind to, creating beautiful woodworking projects, immersing himself in photography, cultivating Bonsai trees, boating, making the most amazing compost, and maintaining his athleticism. In middle age, Bill took up cycling and rode from one end of the state to the other, completing many 100+ mile trips. He was an avid walker, averaging five to seven miles a day for the past three decades. He always had a pocketful of Milk Bones and made fast friends with all the dogs on his neighborhood walks. Bill was still walking two to three miles a day shortly before his illness, meticulously logging his mileage and retreading his sneakers if the soles were wearing thin.

Above all, Bill cared deeply for his family and went out of his way to support them. Bill will be especially missed by his younger sister Carolyn Cluley of Warwick, his nephew David Cluley and his wife Melanie of East Greenwich, his niece Amy Cafaro and her husband Sandy of Greene, as well as his great-nephews and niece Matthew and Nathan Cafaro and Dean and Talia Cluley.

His funeral will be held Wednesday, March 4, 2026 at 11:00 AM in Bellows Funeral Chapel, 160 River Road, Lincoln. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Park, Johnston. Family and friends are invited, and may attend visiting hours prior to the service from 10:00 - 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 would be appreciated.
