WILLIAM BRADLEY INGOLD, age 92, passed away Tuesday, July 8, 2025. His life was a series of bumps in the road. He was born in 1932 during the Great Depression. He worked very hard with his family to survive on a small farm in Kentucky. He met Joanna, my mother, and found a lifelong love. They tied the knot on October 25th, 1952..They spent their lives devoted to each other. Dad and Mom taught us kids how to be the people we are today and went on to teach many grandkids, many more great- grandkids, and even some great- great-grandkids. They shared with us their family values, work ethics, and how to be a valuable part of society. Dad went into the Army on April, 1953. Tragedy struck while he was on leave from boot camp and had an accident that cost him part of his left leg. This did not define him. He lived his life without making allowances for this. He never let it slow him down or keep him from living the life he chose. He was at one time an employee of the US Postal Service, owned a farm and raised beef cattle for a few years, had the farm house burn down and lost many animals to disease and had to sell out to stay solvent. And through all of this he provided a roof for all of us. He then leased and ran several gas stations and was an excellent auto mechanic. He started and ran a small trucking business which Chester and Roger were involved in. Some of his grandchildren are following in his footsteps currently. He built several houses during his lifetime and did all the electric, plumbing, and carpentry himself. This was a man with many life skills. if he didn't know how then he would teach himself and figure it out. He even built the last house he lived in and it is a beauty. He was a man of God and lived his life according to Christian values. Family was always his first priority. He was generous to a fault. If someone was in need, he was always there with a helping hand. He is a legend to this family. His example of how to live a good life will be in the minds and hearts of all of who loved him for the rest of our lives. His presence, knowledge, and wisdom will be sorely missed. Many broken hearts and a river of tears will be with us for a long time to come.
He was preceded in death by his wife Joanna B. Ingold; daughter Phyllis Anne Dunn, son Gary Dale Ingold, and daughter Judith Elaine Ingold. He is also preceded in death by his brothers Edgar, Kenneth and Virgil Ingold, and sister Audrey. He is survived by his remaining children, Roger and wife Mary; Chester and his wife Penny, Patricia, April; and son-in-law, Jerry Dunn. He is also survived by his sister, Charlotte; and his brother, James Claude Ingold.
Visitation will be held 11:00 A.M. to 12:30 P.M. Saturday, July 12, 2025, at COOK & SON - PALLAY FUNERAL HOME, 1631 Parsons Ave. where the funeral service will begin at 12:30 officiated by Rev. Jeb Cain. Burial with military honors 3:30 P.M. at Soldier Cemetery in Garrison, Kentucky.
