William Andrew Jackson, 73, Passes away on September 28, 2025. He was born on February 16.1952 to the late Woodrow Wilson Jackson Sr. and Mary Louise (Gruber) Jackson. He was the loving husband of the late Violet Rose (Barker) Jackson for 45 Years.
He is survived by three daughters. Violet Rose (Tim) Hart of Barboursville, WV, Valerie Renee (Paul) Lane of Fawn Grove, PA and Becky (Rick) Rakestraw of Dallastown, PA. Grandchildren Jessica (Brian) DeVor, Justin (Nicole) Lane, Timmy (Leslie) Hart, Sienna (Garylee) Thompson, Taylor (DJ) Hart, Keith, Kevin (Mary), Elizabeth, Mary, Emily, and Joshua Rakestraw. 19 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Proceeded in death by granddaughter Deveana Langelan. He is also survived by his siblings Woodrow W. (Rosa) Jackson Jr., Sandy L. (Jeff) Baldwin, Shana M. (James) Zier, Mary E. (Emmitt) Higginbotham, and Nancy L. (Martin) Baldwin. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A special personal caretaker Roland Walk
Andy was proud to have served in the US Army for 7 years, serving in Vietnam and in the reserves another 7 years. He worked for the US Government as a civilian for another 30 years at DDSP New Cumberland Army Depot. He also was a member of the VFW Post 537and American Legion Shiloh Post 791. He worked with his parents at Woody's Auto Repair in Manchester and kept the business until he passed. He is also a member of the Wago Club.
A viewing will be held on Monday, October 6, 2025 from 12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m. at Gladfelter Funeral Home, Inc. The service will begin at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor James Baldwin officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Susquehanna Memorial Gardens with full Military Rites performed by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers please donate to the US veterans.
