William Mark Jameson, known as Mark, passed away on June 5, 2024, at his home in Duncan, OK. He was born to William (Bill) and Louise (Keck)Jameson on May 12, 1957.
Mark was a cherished member of the Duncan and Velma communities throughout his 67 years. Mark was a proud 1975 graduate of Velma-Alma High School and furthered his education at Southeastern Oklahoma State University in Durant, OK. His career was marked by dedication and excellence. He had numerous jobs in the oil field before beginning his job at Goodyear Tire & Rubber Plant in Lawton. He worked there from Oct. 1995 to his retirement in July 2022.
Mark married the love of his life, Barbara Gardipe, in January 1997, at Immanuel Baptist Church in Duncan, OK. They enjoyed each day of their union. Mark was a devoted father to Mark Jameson and Craig Jameson (wife Sarah). He was a doting grandfather and was called "Bumps". He was grandfather to Ashley Thorn-Mason (husband Quinton), John Thorn (wife Natalie), Marlee Jameson, Taylee Jameson, and Jett Jameson. Great-grandfather to Harlee Thorn, Hadlie Thorn, John Eden Thorn, Draven Thorn, Omari Mason, and Layla Mason. Other survivors include brother-in-law, Carl Brady and wife Merna; niece, Patti Schwartz and husband Greg; nephew, Kevin Brady; and numerous other relatives.
Mark loved to play golf anytime, anywhere. He never met a golf course that was too challenging. He loved his family and friends. He looked forward to going to Davis, OK, and eating at the Home Plate with Craig, Sarah, and Jett. He would always say they have the best food and waitresses. It didn't matter if it was breakfast or dinner.
He enjoyed doing yard work, even though it interfered with golf sometimes. He met so many people in his lifetime that he truly enjoyed playing golf with and talking to. Mark lived life to the fullest. He was so caring, and supportive, he was the best!!! If anyone needed to talk, he was there to listen. He will truly be missed by those who knew him.
A service to celebrate Mark's life will be held, Thursday, June 13th, at 1:00 p.m. at New Hope Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers please donate to New Hope Baptist Church Youth programs. Arrangements have been entrusted to Whitt Funeral Home/Oakcrest Cremation Center.
