William Jazbec Obituary

William F. "Bill" Jazbec, 83 of Mentor, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2023, at home after a lengthy illness surrounded by his family and close friends.Bill was born Dec. 16, 1939, in Cleveland. His devotion to his family and his firm belief in The Lord supported him in his struggle and ultimately gave him peace.Bill was a faithful man who loved the Lord, his family, and church. After graduating High School at Willoughby North, Bill went in the U.S. Army and served his country (basic training Fort Dix, N.J.) stationed in Germany. Upon returning home, Bill worked at Rotor Tool Co., Erickson Tool Co., Kennametal, and Deckel Maho Gildemeister group working as a tool designer and in production management. His skills propelled him into machine sales, where he spent most of his career until he retired.Bill had a great love for baseball, he coached and managed teams from CLP Little League all the way up to semi-pro ball for the Lake County Knights. He spent a lifetime enjoying golf and participated in golf leagues locally with his son, Michael and friends for many years. Bill frequently travelled west to spend time with his children and their families and could usually be found at a game or two at the Indian's Spring Training Camp.Bill as a member of Chardon Christian Fellowship, was a Deacon, Head Usher and Volunteer. Bill and Carole served the Lord for many years. Bill loved his role as Head Usher, he enjoyed the friendships he made there and loved serving others. Bill quietly had a gift to helping others in need and was always happy to lend a hand to a friend or family member in need without prejudice. Bill will be dearly missed by his family and friends.The family would like to express sincere gratitude for the compassion, strength and encouragement given to Bill and Carole by John, an STNA at Hospice of the Western Reserve, until Bill's passing.He is survived by his beloved wife, Carole Ann (nee Rulli) Jazbec; loving children, William (Katherine) Jazbec of San Jose, Calif., Bonnie (Scott) Meyer of Carefree, Ariz., and Michael Jazbec of Painesville; cherished grandchildren, Sydney Meyer, Andrew Jazbec, Ashley Jazbec, Gianna Jazbec and Michael "Mikey" Jazbec; dear sister, Donna Taylor (George Stang) of Concord; and many nieces and nephews.Bill was preceded in death by his parents, William "Slim" and Amalia "Molly" (nee Jalovec) Jazbec.Family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 11, at Chardon Christian Fellowship Church, 401 S. Hambden St., Chardon, OH 44024, with a Celebration of Life Service to follow at 12 p.m. Burial will be at All Souls Cemetery in Chardon Township."God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging." I went to high school with Bill. I´m so sorry for your loss. He was a very nice person and did so much in life.
