William Alfred "Bill" Jefferson, 72, of Carmel, Indiana passed away on February 3, 2026, at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana.
He was born on December 7, 1953, in New Rochelle, New York.
Bill attended Ohio Northern University and graduated from Butler University in Indianapolis.
An avid outdoorsman and coach, he loved fishing, camping and hockey. Bill enjoyed spending time with Deb and his loved ones, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Deborah J. "Deb" (Deck) Jefferson; six children, Andrew Jefferson, Matthew (Laura) Jefferson, Clint Robbins, Cara Jefferson, Clay Robbins and Ashley Jefferson Hines; mother, Ethel Betty (Adamsen) Jefferson; two brothers, Robert Jefferson and Richard Jefferson; eleven, grandchildren, Katelynn, Abbigale, Max, Beatrice, Jolie, Kennedy, Talyah, Bentley, James, Christian and Scarlett; two great-grandchildren, Kash and Blayze; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Bill was preceded in death by his father, James Stafford Jefferson and a brother, John Jefferson.
A visitation will be from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, Monday, February 9, 2026, at Bozell Funeral Homes and Crematory, Condo Chapel, 130 South Main Street, Wilkinson, Indiana 46186 with service officiated by Michael Smith at 2:00 PM on Monday. Burial will follow at Glen Cove Cemetery in Knightstown, Indiana.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to support research for future transplant patients at Indiana University Foundation, 340 West Michigan Street, Indianapolis, Indiana 46220.
