Funeral services for Mr. William "Bill" Cody Jeter will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 31, 2024, in the Chapel of Rush Funeral Home, Glenmora, with Reverend Brandon Goynes officiating. Interment will follow in Butter Cemetery, Forest Hill, under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Oakdale.
Mr. Jeter, 74, of Forest Hill, entered eternal rest on Sunday, January 28, 2024.
Bill graduated from Rapides High School in 1967. He was a Vietnam Veteran proudly serving in the United States Army. He was a nursery owner for many years. He enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, and working. He loved to go camping at Three Rivers WMA with Earl, Marcus, and Evan. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Earnest "Pete" Jeter and Celestine Trahan Jeter; and two sisters, Sammy Richmond and Dolly Jeter Holland.
Those left to mourn his loss and cherish his memory include his children, Jamie Babb, Liz Butter, and Katie Lynn Harris; two brothers, J.J. Jeter (Ann) of Forest Hill, and Shirley Wade Jeter (Kim) of Carrollton, Texas; two sisters, Rose Jeter of Forest Hill, and Betty Perrin of Alexandria; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
A time of visitation will be held at Rush Funeral Home, Glenmora, on Tuesday, January 30, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Visitation will resume in the Chapel of Rush Funeral Home, Glenmora, on Wednesday, January 31, 2024, at 8:00 a.m. until time of services.
Honored to serve as pallbearers: Marcus Richmond, Evan Howard, Jamie Babb, Ronnie Melder, Adolfo Valle-Serrato, and Sam Stokes.
