William “Johnny” Johnson, of Las Vegas, NV passed away on March 31, 2025.
William was born on January 11, 1939 in Richmond County, Virginia to the late Irving L. Johnson and Lilly Brown.
In 1957, he was recruited in the United States Air Force. He married the late Patricia Johnson, gracefully welcomed two stepsons and had two sons, William “Tiger” and Tracy. After over 22 years of service, he retired and worked as a bartender for the NCO/Hap Arnold Club on March Air Force Base. Later, William remarried the late Barbara Johnson and gracefully welcomed 5 stepchildren. In 2003, he and his family relocated to Las Vegas, NV. Known as “Papa,” he was a family man and cherished his roles as a father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Irving L. Johnson and Lilly Brown, his first wife, Patricia Johnson, his second wife, Barbara Johnson, and his stepdaughter, Kristal Cabebe.
He is survived by his sons, William “Tiger” Johnson and Tracy Johnson, of Moreno Valley, CA; his brother, Herbert Johnson of Kinsale, VA; his stepdaughters Melveen Wilson and Melvalyn Stiner of Las Vegas, NV; stepsons Melvin Malanog of Upatoi, GA, Rudy Cabebe of Las Vegas, NV, Closby Petterway of Atwater, CA and Derrick Robinson of San Antonio, TX, 23 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
