William "Larry" Larice Johnson, 77, of Trinity, went to be with the Lord at his home surrounded by his wife and sons on Saturday, November 29, 2025.
Larry was born on November 18, 1948, in Benson, NC, to the late, Iva Tart and the late Rossi Johnson. He spent his years working in the furniture industry, taking pride in his work and the people he worked with.
Larry enjoyed golfing, fishing and bowling.
Most of all, he loved the love of his life, his wife, Peggy of almost 55 years, his sons, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews who meant everything to him. He showed that in the way he lived and the time he shared with them.
In addition to his parents, Larry is preceded in death by his sister, Anne Markham; brothers, Leamon, Linwood, Glenwood and Earl Johnson.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy Johnson; his two sons, Corey Johnson and Toby Johnson and wife Elizabeth; sister, Diane Samuels and his nephews and nieces. He also leaves to cherish his memory,12 grandchildren, Brandi, Celena, Joshua, Casey, Brittany, Matthew, Alexis, Cody, Chase, Kenzie, Larissa and Addison and 6 great grandchildren, Ryleigh, Dax, Zara, Zane, Ryder and Jasper.
He has always been known as Honey PawPaw, by his grand and great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00pm on Thursday, December 4, 2025, in the Archdale Chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service. The committal will follow at Floral Garden Park Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00pm on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, also at the Archdale location of Cumby Family Funeral Service.
In lieu of flowers, please send any memorial contributions to the Hospice of Randolph County.
We would like to thank the staff of the Cancer Center of High Point and a special thanks to Dr. Sanders for the compassionate care he provided to Larry. We would also like to thank Arianne Wright, hospice nurse, for the loving care that she provided to Larry and the family.
