William A Karcagi

William A. Karcagi, age 82, of Canton, passed away Friday, January 23, 2026 following a sudden illness.
He was born January 1, 1944, in Cleveland the son of the late Joseph and Helen (Nemes) Karcagi.
William was a 1962 graduate of Dalton High School where he played football and basketball.
William worked for First Energy where he retired as supervisor of operations.
William was a veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard having served in Alaska and Florida.
He attended Central Presbyterian Church.
William enjoyed golfing with his Tuesday golf group, traveling, and enjoyed his family beach vacations.
William is survived by his devoted wife and best friend of 35 years, Carol (Kandell) Karcagi; loving family including his daughters, Jennifer Pullen, Jessica (Robert) Edwards and Erica (Brice) Gervais; and grandchildren, Patrick Gervais, Lillian Douglas, and Jack Pullen.
He was preceded in death by brother, Joseph Karcagi and sister, Barbara Grove.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, February 1, 2026 from 2 to 5 P.M. at Heitger Funeral Home - JACKSON CHAPEL.
Funeral service will be held on Monday, February 2, 2026 at 10 A.M. at Heitger Funeral Home - JACKSON CHAPEL.
Burial to follow the service in South Lawn Cemetery in Beach City.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Habitat for Humanity, National Parks Conservation Association, or an organization of your choice.
