Kevin James "Shep" Yoder

Kevin James "Shep" Yoder, age 60, of Orrville, formerly of Dalton, passed away Monday, January 19, 2026, at Aultman Hospital in Canton, following a courageous battle with cancer.
Kevin was born on September 14, 1965, in Wooster, Ohio, to the late Daniel and Edra (Clark) Yoder. He attended Dalton High School and the Wayne County Career Center.
For many years, Kevin worked as a truck driver with Orrville Trucking, a career that reflected his strong work ethic and dedication.
Kevin had a deep love for tractor pulls and, for 38 years, he and his brother Steve attended the National Tractor Pull competition in Bowling Green. Above all else, Kevin cherished his family, including his beloved four-legged companions. He had a special gift for bringing joy to the children in his life, creating memories that will be treasured forever. From dressing up as Santa at Christmas to hosting pumpkin parties for the kids in the fall, Kevin was the source of countless laughs, smiles, and heartfelt moments. He will be remembered for his heart of gold, especially for his kindness toward children and animals.
Surviving Kevin are his significant other, Kristine McCartney; his brothers, Steve Yoder, Dan (Jennifer) Kaser, and Tim (Deb) Kaser; his sister, Cheryl Kaser-Heart; three nieces and nephews, Stephanie Wilson, Daniel (Janessa) Yoder, and Chey (Frank) Diehl; and his many cherished fur babies, especially his loyal dog, Leyla.
In addition to his parents, Kevin was preceded in death by his nephew, Nate Yoder.
A celebration of Kevin's life will be held on February 7, 2026, from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Orrville VFW, 430 W. Market St, Orrville. Burial of cremated remains will take place at the Dalton Cemetery.
