He was born September 29, 1936, in Coal Center, a son of the late Raymond and Naomi Kraeer Kaste. In his younger years, he enjoyed coaching Pony League and Colt League baseball, where his teams participated in the Ten Mile Valley League. He also bowled in various local men's and couples bowling leagues. Fred was employed by the former Lorenzi Lumber Company in Washington, from where he retired in 2002. After retirement, he worked for the Mt. Prospect Cemetery and drove a school van for Jake Schneider Bus Contractor. On June 15, 1957, he married Beverly Sheller Kaste, who survives. Also surviving are a son, James (Lorraine) Kaste of Burgettstown; a granddaughter, Amanda (Cody Ford) Kaste of Texas; four sisters, Mary Frye of Clearwater, Fla., Gladys (Clarence) Wier of Sharpsville, Norma (Thomas) McKnight of Lancaster, S.C., and Nancy (Jim) Matijevich of Burgettstown; two sisters- in-law, Corky (Dave) Narigon of Hickory, and Connie (Bill) Kiehl of Chartiers Township; and several nieces and nephews. Deepest sympathy to Beverly and son Jim on the passing of Fred. It´s been many years since we visited, but I remember what a nice guy Fred was, his big smile and good sense of humor. (I´m a Frye cousin. My Dad was Albert and my Mom was Clara).
May the family feel God´s comfort and peace at this time. Joyce Frye Stewart
