Bruce Kenyon, a devoted husband, a beloved father, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 13, 2024, just days shy of his 73rd birthday. Born on August 19, 1951, in Little Rock, Arkansas, Bruce was a remarkable man whose legacy will forever resonate in the hearts of those who knew him.
A proud graduate of Louisiana State University (LSU), Bruce earned a degree in Engineering, which laid the foundation for a successful professional career. He approached life with a passion and vigor that inspired all around him, whether he was solving complex engineering challenges or sharing warm laughter with family and friends.
Bruce had a profound personal relationship with Jesus, a source of strength and comfort throughout his life. His faith shaped his values and guided him in every interaction. He was also an avid singer, often serenading his loved ones with songs and whistling. Above all, Bruce adored his family, and those moments together were treasured more than anything.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Andrea Kenyon; his daughter, Heather Villeret, her husband, Eddie; his sons, Lee Kenyon and wife Holly, and Austin Kenyon; his Grandchildren Ty Keliipuleole and Bailey Kenyon; brothers, Leonard Kenyon and wife Judy, and Boone Kenyon and wife Debbie; sisters, Anne Thevenot and husband Bruce, and Lynn Hood; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Bruce was proceeded in death by his parents, Howard B. Kenyon and Marian Young Kenyon, and sisters, Katherine Jean Kenyon and Claire Sadler.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the pallbearers who honored Bruce's memory: Lee Kenyon, Leonard Kenyon, Austin Kenyon, Will Kenyon, Mike Tullier, Ty Keliipuleole, John Parks and Tom Conner. A special thank you also goes to Resthaven Gardens of Memory and Funeral Home for their compassionate assistance during this difficult time.
Bruce Kenyon, with his vibrant spirit and unwavering love for his family, will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him. His legacy of love, laughter, and faith will carry on in the hearts of his family and friends forever.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway in Baton Rouge on Saturday, August 17, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. A Visitation will be held at the funeral home beginning at 9:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
