William King Obituary

William Roy King Sr., 89
July 17, 1936 - October 12, 2025
Brookline, NH formerly Lynn, MA - William (Bill) Roy King Sr., age 89, of Brookline, NH, died peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones on Sunday, October 12, 2025. He was the devoted husband of Loraine Judith (Boynton) King with whom he shared over 71 years of marriage. Born in Chelsea, MA, in 1936, he was the son of the late Henry and Mary (Snow) King, and the brother of the late Clarence King and his late wife Margaret, and the late Gerald King and his wife Judy. Bill and Loraine raised their three children Lynne, William Jr., and Timothy, in Lynn, MA. Bill was a skilled auto body technician and worked for many years at Custom Auto Body in Revere, MA. He was a devoted Jehovah's Witness, baptized in 1961. He served as an elder in the congregation for over 50 years and held his faith and studying the Bible close to his heart. His greatest joys were his faith and his family. Especially all of his grandkids and great-grandkids to whom he was known fondly as Grampie.
He was also an avid traveler. Over the years Bill and Loraine took flights, cruises, and road trips, to countless destinations. Road trips were one of their favorite ways to travel. With a paper map in hand, and a trailer in tow they traveled all around the United States and Canada. They took yearly trips to Nova Scotia and Florida. Their epic road trips included a month-long cross country road trip to California, traveling the Northern states on their way west and taking a route through the Southern states on their way back east. They stayed in numerous campgrounds along the way in different states and national parks. They also loved to travel to Disney, and they shared their love of travel over the years with many friends and family members including their parents, kids, grandkids and great-grandkids.
In the early 80's, Bill and Loraine purchased land in Brookline, NH. Together with the help of family and friends they cleared the land and built from the ground up their very own home. In 1984, they moved into the house they built in Brookline where they lived together for the remainder of his life. In the 90's he opened his own business King's Auto Body. Bill was well known for his quality work and always being a fair and honest businessman. Long after retirement Bill could be found puttering around in his shop and doing odd jobs. He was always willing to help out friends and family that needed work done on their cars. His beloved shop was somewhere his grandkids and great-grandkids enjoyed hanging out and making memories.
He is survived by his daughter Lynne (King) McDonald, his son William King Jr. and his wife Barbara, and his son Timothy King and his wife Ketna. His grandchildren Laura and her husband Shaun Carrick, Sally and her husband Jamie Little, Chelsy King, Kurtis King and his wife Idekelly, and Sara King. He also leaves behind seven great-grandchildren Elizabella, Zayley, and Fox King, Chloe and Caleb Carrick, Emmalynne Luca and Ashton Little. He is predeceased by his grandson Ryan King. He also leaves behind many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
