Of Springfield, VA, passed away Saturday, December 27, 2025. Loving husband to Martha M. King; beloved father to Maryanne. Uncle to Jinelle Pellegrini(Jeromy), and Great Uncle to Malachi Pellegrini, Levi Pellegrini, and Novalee Pellegrini. He will truly be missed.

Born on September 23, 1948 to Anne R. Rebrovich and James King of Chicago, Illinois. He was born with an older brother Walter James King. When his father passed away at the age of 9 years old, they moved to Joliet, Illinois, where he lived until he joined the United States Marine Corps in 1967. Bill received his training at Camp Pendelton and was later assigned a tour of duty in Vietnam, from March of 1970 to January of 1971.

While in Vietnam, he was stationed at Marble Mountain, as an Avionics Specialist, and a Gunner on Helicopters. It was in Vietnam that he started writing to a woman from Springfield, VA, and at the end of his tour of duty, moved to Springfield in May of 1971 to be with the woman he would call his wife. He married Martha in January of 1974, and they were married for 10 years before having their daughter, Maryanne. They would have celebrated 52 years of marriage on January 19th.

While living in Springfield, Bill would come to own a tire store that eventually went out of business, and he would settle into working for an Executive Search Firm called, The McCormick Group. It was there that he spent the next 47 years of his life dedicated to headhunting, IT, and Human Resources. He retired in July of 2024.

Friends and relatives will be received at Jefferson Funeral Chapel, 5755 Castlewellan Drive, Alexandria, VA 2315, Thursday, January 1, 2026, 1PM-5PM. Service to be held on Friday, January 2, 2026, at 11AM. Graveside service immediately following, Mt. Comfort Cemetery, Alexandria, VA 22306. Memorial contributions may be made to (Vietnam Veterans_) or a charity of your choice.
