It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of Rev. William F. "Bill" Kleymann, Jr. He passed away at Wesley Hospital in Wichita, Kansas on Friday afternoon, November 14, 2025, at the age of 81.
Bill was born August 10, 1944, in Syracuse, Kansas, to Helen (Connelly) Kleymann and William Floyd Kleymann, Sr., and grew up on a farm northeast of Tribune, Kansas, where he lived until he was 18, graduating from Greeley County High School in 1962.
Bill married Ruby E. Iverson, whom he met in his first week of college. They were married in Clayton, New Mexico on February 28, 1964. Together they had three children,
He is survived by wife, Ruby Kleymann, sons, Wiliam F. (Trae) Kleymann III and wife Monica, of Sedgwick, and Michael Shawn Kleymann and Marie DeTrolio of Spring, Texas; daughter, Kristi Michelle (Kleymann) Nuest and her husband Brad Nuest, of Wichita. His five grandchildren also survive: William F. "TJ" Kleymann (Bobbie Julien), Michael Kleymann (Meghan Ugues), and Stephen Kleymann, all of Sedgwick, and Benjamin Nuest, Wichita, and Hannah Nuest, of Topeka. Bill is also survived by four great-grandchildren. A brother, Dick Kleymann, survives as well.
His parents and his sister, Marsha Clevenger, preceded him in death.
After two years at Panhandle State College, Goodwell, Oklahoma, he attended Salt City Business School, graduating with a business degree. He later attended Sterling College and earned a degree in accounting. He worked as a bookkeeper at a major Grain Elevator in Guymon, Oklahoma, for several years before returning to Tribune to farm with his dad. Later, he attended the University of Dubuque Theological Seminary in Dubuque, Iowa, graduating with a Master of Divinity Degree.
Bill was ordained to the Ministry of Word and Sacrament in the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) and served churches in Iowa, Indiana and Minnesota, before retiring in 2017. He and Ruby moved to Newton, Kansas, from Logansport, Indiana, following her retirement in 2019. They lived in Independent Living at Presbyterian Manor in Newton for the past five years.
After 23 days in Wesley hospital, the last 11 in Cardiac ICU, Bill went home to be with the Lord he loved on Friday afternoon, Nov. 14th surrounded by his family.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 24, 2025, at First Presbyterian Church in Newton, Kansas. Family will greet friends from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the church before the service. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Presbyterian Manor - Good Samaritan Fund or University of Debuke Theological Seminary, and may be left in the care of Petersen Funeral Home, 215 N. Main Street, Newton, Kansas.
