BALLSTON LAKE - It is with great sadness, that our family announces the peaceful passing of our dear loved one, William "Bill" V. Koza Jr., 81, of Ballston Lake, on Monday, June 2, 2025, surrounded by his loving family at Albany Medical Center Hospital, following a brief illness of heart failure.
Born in Albany, N.Y., he was the son of the late William V. and Madeline Ragule Koza Sr., and was a graduate of Cardinal McCloskey High School and Hudson Valley Community College, where he earned his Associates Degree.
Bill retired after 47 years from a dedicated career as a Manufacturer's Representative. His most recent employment was with R.L. Stone in Albany, and had also been self-employed in the HVAC industry.
Bill married the love of his life, Ann Marie Choppa, on November 14, 1964, and together they raised three beautiful daughters, who brought them great joy. Bill was an avid boater, hunter, skier and absolutely loved Lake George. Bill was very service oriented and civically involved. He served as a member of ASHRA from 1969 to 2005, where he was the committee Chairperson for membership and raising funds for research, was a member of St. James Church of Albany Knights of Columbus, served as the Colonial Greens Homeowner's Association Treasurer, was a member of the Lake George Harris Bay Yacht Club since 1987, having served on their Board of Directors for the past 14 years, and was HBYC F-Dock Director. Bill's love for his family was unwavering, and they will forever cherish his love, support and guidance.

Bill in my memory was a kind and gentle person. We were classmates at McCloskey, and I remember those years with fondness. It is with sadness that I lost touch with my classmates, as I spent years downstate and abroad. My sincerest condolences to you, Ann Marie and family on your loss. May his memory be a blessing.
