William Kunsman Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Framptom Funeral Home, P.A. - Federalsburg on Feb. 19, 2026.
William "Bill" L. Kunsman, a beloved Southern Baptist Minister, devoted family man, and skilled woodworker, passed away peacefully at his home in Hurlock, Maryland, on February 19, 2026, at the age of 87. Born on January 28, 1939, in Cecilton, MD, Bill was the son of the late Peter J. Kunsman and Beulah May Snyder.

Bill experienced a rich and fulfilling life, marrying his beloved wife, Ann Cale Read, with whom he shared over 60 years of deep love and partnership until her passing in 2022. Together, they exemplified a marriage rooted in faith, mutual support, and joy.

A veteran of the Delaware Air National Guard, Bill later answered his true calling to ministry. He attended Carson-Newman College in Jefferson City, TN, where he began his lifelong passion for spreading God's word and love through preaching. His commitment to education culminated in 1983 when he proudly earned his Doctorate degree in Theology at the International Bible Institute and Seminary, a testament to his dedication to understanding and sharing the teachings of his faith.

Outside of his spiritual pursuits, Bill was an accomplished woodworker and found great joy in creating beautiful pieces. He cherished his time spent at the gym and enjoyed the companionship of his beloved dogs, affectionately referred to as "the boys."

Bill is survived by his children: William Leroy Kunsman, Jr. and family, David Kunsman and family, and Lois Dukes and family; six grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews to cherish his memory.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Ann and his grandson Chad Kunsman.

Per William's wishes, there will be no memorial service. Those wishing to make a donation in Bill's name may do so to the Hurlock Volunteer Fire Company (P.O. Box 178, Hurlock, MD 21643) or Coastal Hospice (P.O. Box 1733, Salisbury, MD 21802).
