William Joseph Lamartina

William Joseph Lamartina, 65, of Marlboro, NJ, passed away on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at Jersey Shore Medical Center.
Born in Brooklyn, New York, William made New Jersey his home many years ago, building a life filled with love, laughter and dedication toward his family, friends and profession. He was an esteemed engineer, committed to the Thornton Tomasetti engineering firm since the age of 21 and earned the respect of colleagues and friends alike.
William was a man of many passions. He loved dancing, puzzle solving, playing cornhole and cheering on his beloved New York Yankees. A true thrill-seeker at heart, he never missed a chance to go white water rafting or ride the most daring attractions at Great Adventure. His sense of humor, playful spirit and zest for life were reflected in his brilliantly contagious smile, heartfelt greetings and warm hugs. He was the life of any gathering - a lovable, charismatic guy and self-proclaimed party animal. William was the ultimate people-person, with life-long friends and a long list of nieces and nephews honored to call him Uncle Willie. Above all, William was a devoted husband, a proud and loving father, a cherished brother, and a selfless grandfather. He could always be counted on, no matter the circumstance, and brought joy and comfort to those around him.
He was predeceased by his beloved parents, Mario and Nerina Lamartina. He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Lamartina; his children, Joseph Lamartina, Paul Lamartina (Monica), Mark Lamartina (Lauren), and Christina Cavalieri (Anthony); his sister Iride Lamartina-Lens (Juan); his brother Alex Lamartina (Lin Chiu); and his adoring grandchildren, Liliana Lamartina, Rosalia Cavalieri, Luciana Cavalieri, Christian Lamartina, and Luca Lamartina.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Saturday, April 26, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM and again from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Freeman Manalapan-Marlboro Funeral Home, 344 Route 9 North. A funeral liturgy will be held at St. Gabriel's Main Church on Monday, April 28, at 11:00 AM. Entombment will follow at St. Gabriel's Cemetery and Mausoleum.
