William Charles Lambert, 72, of Superior, died peacefully surrounded by his family, Monday, July 10, 2023, at Essentia Health-St. Mary's Medical Center, Duluth.
He was born June 19, 1951, at the former St. Joseph's Hospital, Superior.
On September 19, 1980, at Darrow Road Wesleyan Church, Brenda LaBonte and William Lambert were united in marriage.
Bill honorably served his country with the United States Air Force.
His work history included Kopper's, a plumber's assistant, ABC Rail and the job he most enjoyed was working at the Challenge Center as a director of transportation.
He enjoyed cooking-especially for large groups, road trips, auto mechanics, and cheering for the Green Bay Packers. His greatest fulfillment came from volunteering at the Challenge Center.
Preceding him in death were his mother Audrey (Woods) and stepfather Joseph Wnek; and brothers, Chuck, Ed, Fred and Bob.
Survivors include his wife of over 42 years, Brenda; son, Ian Lambert, and daughter, Shannon Hirvela, both of Superior; 6 grandchildren, Abraham, Benjamin, Ava and Alexander Hirvela, Audrey Lambert and Ian Lambert, Jr.; sister, Ginger (Dennis) Bukovich, Foxboro; brother, Joey (Susie) Wnek, Temecula, CA; and nieces and nephews.
Visitation will begin at 10 until the 11 a.m. service, Monday, July 17, 2023, at Darrow Road Wesleyan Church, Superior. Reverend John Fleming will officiate.
Burial will be held at Summit Cemetery, Foxboro, where military honors will be accorded by the Richard I. Bong American Legion Post 435.
Following the committal service, everyone is invited back to the church, for a luncheon.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Twin Ports Health Services for their loving care and compassion.
