William "Bill" Richard Lambright, age 77, passed into the presence of His Lord peacefully at home with his beloved wife of almost 57 years by his side on Wednesday, October 6, 2021. He was born in Beaver Falls, PA, on January 31, 1944, son of the late Hallet William and Anna Mae Jones Lambright, and the husband of Martha Kinslow Lambright, whom he married on December 23, 1964.
Bill graduated from Beaver Falls High School in Beaver Falls, PA in 1962 and then worked at Babcock and Wilcox Steel Mill for a few years before being drafted into the US Army in 1969 and served two years. In 1970, he served in the Vietnam War as an active duty soldier and received the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, and the Vietnam Campaign Medal and was honorably discharged in 1971.
Bill then moved to
Erie, PA where he was employed at General Electric primarily as a stock-keeper for over 30 years before retiring in 2009. He loved his family and friends and people in general. Bill enjoyed monthly luncheons with his GE buddies. He loved the Cleveland Browns, Walmart, McDonald's, buttermilk with potato chips, and cookies.
Loving memories of Bill will be cherished by his wife, Martha; his daughter, Jennifer (Jeremy) Curry of Erie; and his son-in-law, Brian Mayo of Erie. He was blessed with a grandson that was his "pride and joy" and was fondly known as "papa" to five year old Zachary "Zach" William Curry. Bill also leaves behind his step-grandchildren, Darren (Cara) Mayo, Sara (Zolten) Deak, and Alanna Rahman; and his step-great-granddaughters, Evangaline Boga, Naomi Deak, and Ryleigh Reed. He is further survived by a sister, Carol (John) Basinger; his uncle, Andrew (Vicki) Jones; aunts, Wilma Weaver and Maxine Failor; sisters-in-law, Mary Luther, Susie Lambright, and Barbara Lambright; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his daughter, Tricia Lambright Mayo; brothers, Wayne, Glenn, and Eddie; and brothers-in-law, Paul Luther and Joseph Kinslow.
Bill's family would like to thank Interim Hospice for their love, support and care during this difficult time.
Family and friends may call at the Dusckas Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 2607 Buffalo Rd., on Sunday from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm. Further visitation will be held on Monday at the East Erie Assembly of God, 2653 Saltsman Road from 10 am until the time of the Funeral Service there at 11 am with his pastor, Cliff Hamilton, officiating. Interment will follow at Erie County Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Military Honors rendered by the American Legion Carl Neff Post 571. Flowers are welcome and other contributions may be sent to the
