Princeton – William (Bill) Cass Lange from Princeton, IL passed away on Thursday, January 2, 2025.
Bill was born on November 16, 1947, to the late William E. Lange and Marjorie Carol (Cass) Lange. He was a graduate from Princeton High School, Class of 1965. Bill proudly served in the Army for 4 years; stationed in Anchorage, Alaska. He was an entrepreneur and was involved in starting the Burger King franchise in Anchorage Alaska, Lindal Cedar homes and many other businesses.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved hunting and fishing in Alaska. He would fly his plane to many secluded wooded areas with family and friends to enjoy these hobbies and the outdoors. Bill also loved sports, especially baseball, and he pitched in a summer league in Wisconsin. He delighted in teaching and sharing his love of baseball with his son. He lived his life to its fullest and shared that passion of life with his family.
He loved his family so dearly and cherished the family gatherings they all had. He greatly enjoyed spending any time he could with his children and grandchildren.
Bill is survived by his two children, Kristofer Lange of Gig Harbor, WA and Melissa (Evan) Poinsett of Colorado Springs, CO; two siblings, Jeannie (Jerry) King of Princeton, IL, Lori (Pete) Christian of Princeton, IL; three grandchildren, Zackary Lange, Hunter Lange, August Poinsett, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Preceded in death by his father, William E. Lange, his mothers, Marjorie Carol (Cass) Lange and Verna (Duffield) Lange, his sister, Nancy Lorang.
A private immediate and extended family service will be held.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2025 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Norberg Memorial Home, Inc. & Monuments in Princeton, IL.
Services for Bill will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2025 at 12:00 p.m. at Norberg Memorial Home, Inc. & Monuments officiated by Pastor Michael Hickok of the First United Methodist Church in Princeton, IL
