William Gary Layman, age 73, of Flint, passed away on Friday, January 23, 2026. Private arrangements have been entrusted to Sharp Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Road, Grand Blanc.
William was born on December 13, 1952, in Flint the son of the late Robert and Pearl (Decker) Layman. He graduated from Flint Central High School, class of 1972. Later he began a 27-year career with GM working at Fisher Body until his retirement from GM Power Train in Bay City. William enjoyed playing cards and fishing.
He is survived by his son, Kevin and wife Amanda; three grandsons, Kevin and wife Skylar, Kyle and wife Kristina and Kris and wife Tayler; five great-grandchildren, Sabryn, Kaisyn, Miles, Sawyer and Kyah; and two brothers, Tom and wife Karen and Craig and wife Lori.
