William Garland Ledbetter

William Garland Ledbetter of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, passed away from this life on September 4, 2022, at the age of 79. William was born on September 11, 1942, in Jacksboro, Texas, the son of Ruben Columbus Ledbetter and Dolly Beulah (Wallace) Ledbetter.
As a young man, he attended school in Antelope and Graham, Texas and later enlisted in the United States Army, proudly and honorably serving his country. He became a mechanic by trade, working for Haskell-Lemon Construction Company until his retirement. He was a member of his local American Legion Post #13, and during his time in the Wichita Falls area, William enjoyed attending services at Lakeside Baptist Church in Lakeside City, Texas. In his younger years, he was an avid fisherman who loved fishing any time he had the opportunity. William's gentle, reserved nature endeared him to many people over the years. He will be dearly missed.
He is preceded in death by his wife Joy, parents Ruben and Beulah Ledbetter, one sister, Irelene Foster and brother Tommy Ledbetter. William is survived by his children, sons Robin Ledbetter of Chattahoochee, Florida, BJ Ledbetter of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Ronald Ledbetter and wife Sherry of Chattahoochee and stepson Bobby Curry and wife Mary Jane of Roseville, CA; his siblings, brother Steve Ledbetter and wife Dorothy of Rockford, MI, and sister Lucille Preston of Amarillo, Texas; along with three grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and many other loving family members and friends.
