William “Liam” Merrick Lacey, 11, of Lake in the Hills, passed away unexpectedly on October 18, 2025. He was born on November 27, 2013 in Park Ridge.
Liam will be deeply missed by his loving mom, Erica Lacey; his twin sister, Reese Lacey; grandparents, Mark and Diane Tredore; and his aunt Lauren (Dan) Campagna. He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents; William & Irene Zamer and Joseph & Adeline Tredore.
Liam was an amazing child who was loved by all. He was kind, caring, loving, and always smiling. Liam's goofy "one liners" always made everyone laugh, and his own laugh was infectious. Liam loved swimming, eating ice cream, playing Legos and cars with his Pop-Pop (grandfather Mark), and snuggling and eating Oreo cookies with his Meema (grandmother Diane). He especially loved sleepovers at his Auntie Lala (Lauren) and Uncle Danny's house.
Liam's twin sister, Reese, was his best friend from the day they were born. They did everything together. He enjoyed playing Roblox with her as well as video games at the arcade. But above all, Liam loved his mom more than anything in the world...they were inseparable. He loved snuggling, playing games on his Nintendo Switch 2, and having ice cream at Cold Stone Creamery with her.
Liam had a deep love for Christmas, especially the family traditions at his Auntie Lala and Uncle Danny’s house, which was always the heart of the holidays. There, he and Reese were spoiled endlessly. Liam adored those times—and especially loved the presents, the fun, and the spirit of Christmas.
Liam was the sweetest child, and he will be forever missed in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
He is further survived by his Dad, Pierce Lacey.
Memorial Visitation will be Saturday, November 1, 2025 from 11 AM until the Celebration of Liam’s Life at 3 PM at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave. (Rte. 176), Crystal Lake, IL 60014. Interment will be private.
