William Linnell Sr., 82

April 3, 1943 – August 15, 2025

William Linnell Sr., 82, passed away peacefully on August 15, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on April 3, 1943, the son of Carroll and Cecilia (Beaulieu) Linnell.

Bill lived a life rooted in hard work, family, and the outdoors. Over the years, he was employed by Lucas Tree, Carter Feed Store, Cianbro, Shawmut Pulp Mill, and spent more than 30 years driving a school bus for SAD 49, where he was a familiar and friendly face to generations of students.

A true outdoorsman, Bill found joy in woodworking-specially building wooden toys, rocking horses, board games and jewelry boxes. He had a deep love for hunting, fishing, and camping, and often spent time gold mining and metal detecting with friends and family, traveling far and wide in search of hidden treasures. Summers were never complete without a good clam dig and a seafood feast shared with loved ones.

He was predeceased by his parents, Carroll and Cecilia Linnell, and his brother, Bunny Linnell and his wife Eliza Linnell for over 33 years, his 2 stepsons Maurice Meserve and Waler Meserve.

Bill is survived by his brother Carroll Linnell Sr., his brother Jimmy Linnell & Tommy Linnell, and his sister Anne Small, his 3 children Billy Jr, Dennis and Heidi. His stepson Lee Meserve and stepdaughter Eliza (Meserve) Henderson. His Grandchildren, William Meunier and Brandi Drake with her daughter, his great granddaughter Madison Drake. Plus 3 Great grandkids, Kamyrn Meunier, Kaden Meunier and Randy Meunier. Along with many nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss his warmth, humor, and quiet wisdom.

A graveside service will be held at Ames Cemetery on River Road in Benton on September 6th at 10am.
