Not sure what to say?

Mr. Luce (always Mr. Luce for me) was the best teacher I've ever had and an even better coach and person. I learned from him the importance of discipline, consistency, and fair competition. He showed me that no matter where we come from, we can succeed by combining whatever talents we have with dedication to a goal.

He sparked a lifelong curiosity about the world and why it works the way it does. Mr. Luce inspired generations of SHS students to think expansively about their place...

Condolences to the Luce Family. RIP Bill.

So sorry to hear about Bill's passing. He was one of my teachers at Savannah High School from 1979-1982 and was my favorite teacher . He made learning fun and interesting and I always looked forward to his class and from reading his obituary I was not the only one that felt that way. Rest in peace Bill!

William, (Bill) was a servant, not only as an outstanding history instructor, but teaching dog lovers how to share that love with others. Bill was a champion for dogs who have been abandoned and encourage those he knew to adopt animals that needed a good home. Bill generated kindness to everyone that he met and was non judgmental. I met Bill through his involvement with pet therapy. He and Sharon were and are an inspiration to me. I experienced in Bill a gentle strength that was grounded in empathy, a commitment to excellence and the willingness to walk side-by-side through the pet therapy training process. Bill loved the dogs and he valued the friendships and community that developed. I valued Bill's friendship and will miss him. My hope is that Bill is now surrounded by an eternal love!

Sharon and Tammy, so sorry to hear of Bill's passing. Jon and I have so many fond memories of the time we spent with the three of you.

My deepest sympathies go to Bill’s family and many friends. He had a fine mind and a caring heart, the necessary qualities for what Bertrand Russell called “the good life;” one of reason guided by compassion; and he certainly led such a life. He was an exemplary teacher, a dedicated scholar, a committed and energetic public servant; he possessed a clever wit and an excellent sense of humor, and he was unfailingly kind and encouraging. He made the world a better place, and his passing is a...

Thinking of you Sharon.

I am sending my sincere condolences to Sharon and Tamela. Bill was a kind man who valued life and all in it. May God grant you comfort at this time.
