William B. Lynn

William B. Lynn, 100, of Manchester, entered into eternal rest surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, March 25, 2026. Son of the late William C. and Sarah (Lappin) Lynn, William was born on February 23, 1926 in Portadown, Northern Ireland.

William often said he lived a great life, had a lot of fun, and loved his family. He was happiest when surrounded by family and friends. William retired from the United States Air Force as Chief Master Sergeant after 27 years, serving in World War II, Korea, and Vietnam.

William is survived by his loving children, Bernard Lynn and his wife Pamela of Centreville, VA, Theresa Buczynski and her husband Richard of Marlborough, Gerald Lynn and his wife Kathy of Andover, and David Lynn and his wife Annamarie of South Windsor; his 6 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren whom he loved so much. William was predeceased by his parents, William C. and Sarah; his daughter, Ann Lynn; and also, Catherine Lynn, the mother of his children; his companion later in life, Mary Surdyka; and his siblings, Mary Tamayo, John Lynn, Bridget Marceau and Theresa Hayden.

Relatives and friends are invited to the John F. Tierney Funeral Home for a visitation on Sunday, March 29 from 4pm to 6pm. William was a devout Catholic. A Mass of Christian burial will take place on Monday, March 30 at 10am at Assumption Church, 21 Adams St. South in Manchester (please meet directly at church). The burial will follow at East Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Elks Lodge in Manchester, toward the "Veterans' Cause" 30 Bissell St. Manchester, CT 06040.
