William Jay MacMichael

William Jay MacMichael, 69, of Hendersonville, NC passed away unexpectedly at home on Saturday, April 15th,2023. William was born in Ashtabula, OH to the late Donald Bryson MacMichael and Margot Steidel MacMichael. He spent his early years in Ohio, until his family relocated to Bradenton, Fl. He was a graduate of Manatee High School. From there he proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1973-1976. He then went in to earn an Associates Degree in Nursing at the State College of Florida in Bradenton, FL. He was an RN for many years, and retired from nursing in October of 2020. He was known as Author William Beck in the literary world with his Bryson McGann series and other published works. He loved to cook. His pizzas, especially. William also enjoyed spending time with friends, traveling with his wife, and being with family. Surviving William is his loving wife of 36 years, Rebecca Rhea MacMichael; daughter, Rae Andreano (Richard) of Bunnell, Fl; son, Dr. Daniel Gatewood (Patrick Mudd) of Washington, D.C.; brother, Donald MacMichael (Mercia) of Hendersonville, NC; sister, Linda Brandow (James) of Weaverville, NC; grandson, Sidney Andreano of Bunnell, FL; and many nieces and nephews whom he enjoyed spending time with. An intimate gathering will take place for family and friends to celebrate his life. Family will miss him terribly, but are thankful for the memories made.
